inclusion as a green compliant company, the highest entry level, within the
Building Register. The standards include Financial Criteria, Licences,
Permits, Insurance and Quality Assurance.
The Building Register
is responsible for developing and maintaining the the most comprehensive
on-line construction vendor information service in the UK. The Building
Register is a supply chain database used by contractors and other
organisations to source subcontractors and suppliers to support the exchange
of project enquiries and tenders. It provides up to date details on over
500,000 construction industry vendors.
The Building Register
website software provides proactive support to nearly 18,000 construction
professionals managing the key processes of over £15 billion of projects and
cover enterprise and project collaboration, estimating & tendering, cost and
value management, purchase management, and financial management.
All compliant
companies complete an electronic questionnaire (EQ) which links directly to
the Building Register website. The Building Register imports completed
EQs and performs checks against information provided to verify Company
Employers & Public Liablity Insurance, Professional Indemnity & Product
Liability Insurance, Health, Safety, Environmental & QA Policies, Quality
System Certification and Financial details.
As part of the
Building Register services to the UK Construction Industry, all registered
firms are required to complete the EQ and maintain up to date information.
The EQ has been developed to facilitate a more efficient and qualitative
process for the collection and updating of accurate Company information.
This information is then communicated to Contractors. The 'Pre-Qualification
Questionnaire mapping' service on the Building Register website helps to
reduce the time and expenditure spent completing such documents.
